Sorry for the squint. I have extremely light sensitive eyes! A beautiful sunny day, faithful dog by my side. What could be better? A beaded tunic gifted to my by my mom.

How about animal print flats with an animal admiring them! Ash liked them so much that he lay on my feet and rolled around. Maybe I should explain no real animals were involved in the making of these shoes!

And of course with my photos, there's always a back story. This was taken just before Ash tripped me and I stumbled over the tripod spraining my ankle slightly. Fortunately, I had already taken the camera off since I now have quite a reputation as a camera killer. Who knew fashion and photography could be so hazardous to your health?

What Should I wear to . . . a Meeting?

First you need to know that public speaking terrifies me, and then you  need to know that my job absolutely requires it.  Part of feeling confident is wearing something I feel professional and attractive in. This is maybe not the perfect outfit, but I'd give it about a 7 or 8 out of ten now that I'm second guessing myself after the fact. It's what I wore the other day while presenting to a group, so it's what I'm going with. Ideally I'd like a perfect 10 especially if I'm presenting, but somehow it just wasn't happening that day. I've been playing with fun color coordinations, but I was afraid to stray far from the ordinary and conventional. Maybe that's why I find it sort of, blah. And I had my black Merrill Clogs on in the picture because I wore them for the drive home. For the meeting I actually had some cute taupe flats that helped the outfit a lot.
I also found it amusing that when I begged my son to take my photo these are the pictures he took below. It took a lot of convincing to get him to photograph dear old Mom and not his cat. After all, Whiskas is always styling no matter what.

Monday's Outfit a Day Late

There was a rain delay in getting Monday's outfit posted! Actually I had to work late and I'm not enough of a morning person to post in the morning. Normally I don't wear grey on rainy days but I figured the turquoise scarf would cheer it up. And as usually our dog Padme has to get in on the action. I've decided setting the self-timer is her cue to get in front of me. It must send out signals only she can hear. I have my cute plaid rain boots on but these pants looked stupid tucked in. I'm having pants tucked in boots issues that I need to work out!

Mixing Patterns--My First Ever Attempt!

First let me say, I'm an original and creative person . . . just not today. I have to admit I was inspired by fashion bloggers, especially Kashmira at What I Wore 2Day. Usually I just say "Oh, wow I love that on her but I could never pull that off!" since I'm a fade into the background kind of a gal. I know mixing patterns works in interior design and I do it when scrapbooking a lot, but clothes? The memory is still fresh of 7th grade and mom making me go change out of a plaid skirt with a floral top. I think the colors were the same and it would probably work today, but not in 1981!. At that point I believe we were still obeying the whole no white shoes before Easter or after Labor Day rule. So things were a lot more restrictive.

Fast forward to this year when I went to my closet and just played with my clothes. I just took a bunch of stuff and made outfits just to see if I could. Gosh darnit, this is actually fun and I came up with some cute combos. Who knew?

And as usual the animals have to get in on the photo action. Bonus points if you can find the picture where I have a tail! I was also swatting a bug when the self-timer snapped it. Maybe later I'll do a post entirely of photo bloopers.

It's a little shortish for what I'm usually comfortable with, and my tan has apparently faded. So for work I would definitely have to wear tights, but it all turned out better than I thought. Fun, fun, fun! With some tights, I would definitely wear this in public and not just in the woods with the pets.
